How do I register?

Who can participate?

Convertibles of all makes and models are welcomed -- vintage, classic or new, jeep, coup or sedan.

 

Can I cruise if I don't have a jeep or convertible?

Yes. You are encouraged to roll down the windows and open the sunroof. The idea is to be as "open air" as possible; to be a modern-day sleigh!

 

How much does it cost to attend?

There is no cost to attend.

There is a $5 cost to Cruise which includes your collectible ornament!

Can I decorate my convertible or jeep?

Yes, holiday decorations are encouraged; however, the car must be road-worthy, all passengers should be wearing seatbelts and nothing should be thrown from the vehicles as this is a street cruise; NOT a parade.

 

Will the street be closed? Can I drive on East 185th St. even if I don't have a convertible?

East 185th St. will NOT be closed and regular traffic will be maintained. The mix of regular traffic and cruising convertibles will only add to the lively atmosphere of East 185th St.

 

Do I have to drive the entire time?

No. Cruise participants are encouraged to pull over and visit the many unique boutiques or enjoy a warm beverage or fine food available from the many establishments along East 185th St. You can start and stop cruising as many times as you'd like

 

Can other ride with me during the Cruise?

Absolutely. As long as all driving rules are followed you can enjoy the Cruise with friends and family. Feel free to drop off some passengers to shop along East 185th St.. or pull over if you see a friend and have them join you for a lap or two.

 

What happens if it rains?

The event will take place regardless of the weather. The obvious difference is that convertibles will likely have their tops up. However, the merchants will still be offering all their special attractions for the evening so the Holiday Spirit will still be enjoyed.

A limited number of 2011 Candy Cane Cruise on East 185th St. ornaments will be available the night of the Cruise,

 

 

What is there to do if I am not driving a convertible?

The Candy Cane Cruise is a Holiday event that offers fun for the whole family.

In addition to the spectacle of convertibles cruising in the cold there will be live music of the season and many merchants will be offering a unique holiday experience.

 

Will the East 185th St. Merchants have anything special happening?

YES! Many of the merchants along East 185th St. will be offering unique attractions and give-a-ways. Be sure to stroll the Street to see how each Merchant is celebrating Cruise night!
